Classic Southwest Spiral Post Designs

We are here to make sure you fully understand about all the different materials and characteristics of our products. Each timber is carefully graded and hand selected for each Spiral Post. When it’s time to choose material for a project we carefully consider the concept and design of your home and project.

All column prices are based upon using our rough sawn, saw mill grade Douglas Fir.  We do, however, recommend using kiln dried materials that are engineered for strength when accommodating load bearing conditions. Structural materials will require custom pricing. We offer other materials as well, such as Ponderosa Pine and Cedar, upon request. Spiral Columns / Vigas can have different proportions of carving. Our standard posts are designed to have an 18 in. top and an 18 in. bottom, with 5 ft. of centered carving. This can be adjusted to suit your project needs, but may affect costs.

Please note, wood is an organic substance that is prone to twisting, shrinking, and cracking. If you would like a material that is higher quality and suitable for load bearing conditions you may want to consider kiln dried wood that is engineered for strength. This material will have less defects and is less likely to twist or bow and the cracking is minimal. ALL SALES ARE FINAL, NO REFUNDS.
